Which kitty litters do you like? I used to use that clumping stuff, but it leaves a residue on my lead crystal collection that only the DW can remove.....Bill in Az....

i use to use the clumping litter,,,but my precious kitty (rat with a perm)lol...got a piece stuck up inside her and caused a serious infection...140.00 dollars later...she's all better...so i stick with the reg gritty kitty clay litter...for the little pampered witch...lol

We use the Fresh Step with activated carbon and Tidy Cats MultiCat Immediate odor killer Clumping. We have a LitterMaid Mega Elite that we love and the cats love even more. All I do is empty the tray and refill with new litter when it gets low. When I start a new container of litter I usually take the litterbox apart and wash everything to keep it tidy and clean. With 3 cats I couldnt even imagine going back to a regular box. We used to use the Yesterdays News cat litter and that was fine with just 2 cats but when we got Willow I had to change it every day and the stuff isnt cheap and not only that did it stink. Plus I went thru a bag and a half a week. At $11 a bag its painful.

Kitty litter on your lead crystal? 'Splain, Lucy. Does your cat take a dump in your wine goblets?

Sorry but don't understand the connection between kitty litter and the DW.

Toggle...

...don't mean to speak for Bill, but kitty litters have a very very fine dust. It permeates everything and everywhere, and due to humidity will stick on things...like toggle's crystal. The stuff is like concrete when it does this and is hard to remove.

Toggles

I meant I keep the kitty litters behind a chair in the first living room. I have a corner wall unit with a lot of Waterford crystal on it. The dust from that clumping stuff settles on the crystal and can't be vacuumed off, so in the Bosch they go. I think that dust crap could be bad for the cats and me!!!.....Bill in Az....

And FWIW...

...I use Fresh Step w/Carbon as well...but it has that dust. There is a corn cob based Perfect Litter (I think) that's supposed to be the be all end all of cat litters. But it's pricey. Possibly a silica gel litter? I'm shooting in the dark here, and would be interested in the experience of others as well. Would like to find something that Ben would be ok with, and I not feel dusty afterwards.

I use Fresh Step non scented, Thomas now cover his stuff since I've made the switch 30 days ago.
The scented stuff is too strong of a scent on him as well as me. I do a total change once a month and I scoop daily or every other day!
He's quite spoiled, he has a box in his room and down stairs in our man cave!

Tidy Cat clumping here!

with the blue and green crystals to help with the odors. although sometimes that isn't enough. sometimes when Salty (the male)does his business it smells like he has been holding it for a week...lol.......haven't had a problem with any "dusting" though....there shouldn't be that much dust flying around unless you're throwing it in the air and spreading it around. that statement about it getting on the crystal just make since to me. Here's a picture of the little beast.....lol

He is a handsome fellow!

Thanks Lawrence! He is a sweetie and loves to snuggle. When I get in bed at night he does all he can to get as close a possible. plus he is a "licker" can't tell you how many times I have been awakened in the early morning with him licking my forehead......guess he needs a salt fix in the wee hours of the morning...lol

Beautiful kitty indeed...

...perfect tabby "M" on the forehead. (There's a story about how tabby's got their M, but you probably already know it!)

And Hello from Saint Louis Mark!

Here's my goofy Ben...he was a friendly stray hanging around work. So I adopted him. Another work friend, who lives in Festus, by the way, is a major cat lover -- not to mention tough old broad -- so she's Ben's "Aunt Sherri!"

I'd never had a cat before, but this loveable little goof has been very patient with me.

Tabby's and Siamese IMHO are the best cats to have.

We use Tidy Cat multi. If I put anything else in the box, Beverly will use the floor next to it.

Hello from Saint Louis Mark!

Hey JD! Good to see another "St. Louisan" on here. There are several of us on here in the St. Louis area. I think we all need to get together for some B-B-Q pork steaks and a wash-in!

Don't know the story behind the "M" on the forehead.....how did they get it?

Ben is a cute!

Ben is a little nut!

He's about a year old, according to the vet. Not sure, since he was a stray. But a very loveable, friendly, sociable stray. But since his arrival, everything is backwards in my place. The dog ignores him for the most part -- even when he chases the dog. But they do get along well -- they race together up and down the stairs like it's NASCAR.

Unfortunately, due to living in an apartment, I don't have a fun vintage machine for a wash-in -- but I'll simmer the pork steaks in my vintage Westinghouse Roaster, will that work?

The Legend of the Tabby "M"...stand back, it's religious. Haha!

Anyway, since Jesus was born in a manger on a cold night, he began to shiver. Mary bade the animals to come closer, but still the babe shivered with cold. A tabby cat came and snuggled with the baby Jesus and made him warm. To show her appreciation and their special place in God's Kingdom, Mary marked the tabby with her initial forever.

Sappy and saccharine -- but a cute legend nevertheless!

doesn't matter if you don't have any "machines"
good company and good food is what it's all about.
