Whirlpool is getting downright ridiculous!
Since I lost my accounting job in April because of all this corporate greed, I've taken on whatever work I can recently. So, lately, I've been cleaning in a new construction apartment building in northeast Minneapolis. As I was down on my hands and knees vacuuming under a new BOL Whirlpool dishwasher, I noticed the motors are still being made in China.... I thought these junky motors were the source of numerous dishwasher fires recently (?). Also, when I roll out the new BOL Whirlpool top-freezer fridges in these apartments, I notice that their compressors are PANASONIC (a Japanese company, no less) and made in SINGAPORE! It's no wonder so many Whirlpool employees are being walked to the curb! And I just hate the fact that they put those little stickers on the front of new Maytag top-load washers saying that Whirlpool employs more American workers than any other American appliance manufacturer. "Our washers are designed, engineered, and assembled in the U.S.A!" Yeah, that's great, but put decent AMERICAN-made components in these machines before making bold statements like that! UHH! My dad works in the steel industry and is scheduled to be laid off until next spring because of such low demand for steel. Maybe he and millions of other Americans in the manufacturing sector wouldn't be in such a predicament if the big wigs of these companies would just think about the trickle-down effect of their greedy decisions. I used to be a die-hard Kenmore and Whirlpool customer because of their durable, long-lived appliances. If this keeps up, not any more. And I'll make sure Whirlpool knows about it by telling everyone I know!
