Whirlpool Senseon dryer

Hello, I have posted a few times and read the posts daily. I am thinking about selling my whirlpool dryer. It was their top of the line model and will be 7 years old in July. I am located in a suburb of Chicago, so I thought Id just post and see if there is any interest. I am not a big fan of e-bay and I enjoy this forum so I figured this would be a good place to start. I am not sure what a fair price would be. Except for one tiny chip near the lint filter, you would not know it was not brand new.The dryer has performed flawlessly for the time I have had it, I just have my eye on the new Miele. I have pictures etc if needed, based on interest level.

In my opinion, you should still keep this dryer. I know Miele are more than excelent machines, but their capacity is not really good for me. I also have a Senseon Dryer with an electronic Control panel which is 4 years old, and it has been the best appliance all over my house.

Anyone care to elaborate on the "Senseon" system? How is it faster?

I don´t really know how it works, but it only takes about 35-40 min to do a load of huge towels (10 bath towels + 5 hand towel + bath carpet)

Senseon dryers have an exhaust thermistor (electronic thermostat) that works in concert with moisture sensing strips near the drum exhaust outlet, high air flow and an electronic control software program that closely regulates the cycling of the element or gas burner. This greatly reduces the cut-in & cut-out (amplitude) of temperatures during the drying cycle. Once a certain percentage of remaining moisture is sensed in the load the heat is reduced to low for remainder of heat on period.

A certain few models feature modulated heat, where high heat input is reduced as the drying cycle continues. In other words the heat is reduced by a 2 stage element but not cycled until late in the "heat-on" period. Either arrangement accelerates the drying process nicely.

These dryers have a temperature range of 115f delicate-extra low, 125f knits-casual-low, 135f P-press-medium, 145 Normal-med high & 155 cottons-high.

Ok you have convinced me to keep this dryer. I will take a pass on the Miele. Thank you for your responses. I really cant compain at all about it, its been great. Sometimes I get this bug up my you know what and I want to replace something just for the excitement of it... LOL. I will live through everyone else on the board. How many of us on the board are from Illinois? Just curious.
Im still obsessed with obtaining a vintage Norge washer like the Montgomery wards one I had in the 80's... loud as anything but oh so powerful!

Lombardian, is there chance you could post some pictures of your dryer? I will really like to know your dryer. I'm obssesed with Whirlpool dryers. I think they are the best!!!

Sometimes I get this bug up my you know what and I want to replace something just for the excitement of it... LOL

I used to do this, until I learned that almost everytime I did it I ended up with something not as good! I have learned my lesson. If it is still working, keep it!
