I just happened to run into these recently. When I was a kid in the early 70s, I used to beg my mother to buy this detergent because it came in a plastic bottle that was shaped as a washing machine.

Not only was it shaped like that, but the bottles came in four different colors avacado, coppertone, harvest gold and white. There was a sticker on the control panel with a big dial and smaller dials, and unfortuantely the sticker is missing on these, but I have't seen these in 40 years and I had to share.

She let me save them for a while so I had all of the colors at once. Oh how I remember lining them up against different things and making play laundromats with them lol.

Days-Ease

I don't remember ADDIT detergent but I very much remember another DAYS-EASE product.
I insisted my mother buy it.... She did, bless her soul !
This was a toilet-bowl cleaner-freshener. It had a plastic daisy with a glow-in-the-dark center which had a lump of toilet cleaner at the bottom of the stem.
You opened the tank of the toilet, dropped the disinfectant lump / flower stem assembly into the water then closed the tank.
The DAISY (get it? Days-Ease = Daisies) peeked out the top of the tank to ensure you knew you had many DAYS of EASE ahead of you.
And it glowed in the dark so you would be reminded of your DAYS of EASE as you pooped when the power went out.
When it stopped glowing I popped the flower's center like a zit. It was a fun toilet-cleaner. I am somewhat dismayed that I am wasting well-needed brain synapses on this old memory !

oh what great memories....I remembered the bottle, could not think of the name......I was the same as you Robert....had every color, and lined up like a laundromat with two walls of Lego's....this takes me back to my childhood....

Thanks for this......

That is the cutest containers I have ever seen!
I have never heard of this brand.
Great find Robert! You must have been crushed when you had to throw away your little pretend laundromat!

Did this receive nation-wide distribution?

Well since it was made in California and we bought it in New Jersey, I assume it must have had at least limited national distribution.

Was not very good getting clothes as Dash, All or Salvo which were the low sudsing brands we used in our combo. I loved the packaging though.

I remember seeing this in our stores in CT as well. However, I never thought it was an actual detergent - but sort of a booster. I also don't remember that it was around for very long.

Yes I think you are correct angus, it appears to be just a laundry booster. I didn't notice that until I actually read the label after it I posted it. So while I remember it being a detergent, I suspect my mother must of used it as a laundry booster.

There is almost nothing about it on the web what so ever. Here are the harvest gold and white bottles, one of them has the control panel sticker intact...
