It makes sense. The equivalent of making a small hole on one side back when using a church key was a common practice.
Works well with plastic quart bottles of motor oil, and those big square cans of olive oil.
you would be surprised at the stuff your sort of doing wrong....but for most, theres an easier way....once you learn new ways, you can't go back....and its been in front of your face the whole time.....
Well, I couldn't help but notice that pouring the wrong way is much more erotic.

Yes....logic..if you keep it on the bottom it will bubble inside for liquid over it so hence splash due to the fact in needs to take air and will be an intermittent flowing.
It helps making an hole on the back side, though it will not be tight when you have to plac back in the refrigerator, it works with milk cartons though where both side can be opened and re-closed....
Same reason why also some liquid detergents like Persil do have a small hole which oppose the spout, Tide instead has a carving that goes till the bottle ring for the same reason.
And blah blah blah...
