I remember hearing my Dad talk of a colleague out at the GE Research Labs baking on tons of food on pots and pans and then heating it way up to burn it off. Carbonizing it he called it then.
He was designing that P7 Process at the time. My Dad thought it was a riot that he had all these burned pots and pans in his lab waiting to be tested! He had collected some from his wife too!
I bought a 1970's version of that stove for my Mom for the Cape house, she loved the double ovens! T-day was a breeze for her after that!
