Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Andy -

That's the 12th week of 1963 for a manufacture date, and yes, it is a 1963 model.

That was a very prolific model - mine was made in 1965, and is still a 110.6308802. I suspect that the C you read in the first part of the serial number might actually be a poorly stamped zero.

VERY COOL machine though - I have never seen one of these in Pink.

I would read more on this machine but I have to run to the airport - back later.

OH WOW ANDY!!!!!. I don't like pank but it's nice looking and in good shape for its age. Nice SQ too!! Now if someone around here has a Turqoise LK 800 washer, it would look nice next to this pank LK 800 dryer!!

Wow, what a find!

Gotta love the low humidity atmosphere of the Reno area that preserves vintage appliances as well as cars!

All of these Whirlpool/Kenmore posts are starting to make me wonder if the Maytag Man is permanently crossing over to the dark side

are starting to make me wonder if the Maytag Man is permanen

Thus speaks the Maytag Fanatic with the Vintage Kitchenaid dishwasher he installed after cold heartedly ripping that poor, defenseless Maytag reverse rack out and killing it...

Well, after staring at the dryer in my rear view mirror the rest of the day, I just had to >force< myself to go thru it. As I thought, it was so heavily linted that you couldn't see the motor! Here we are after a good delinting and cleaning. Much better!

The back was just as bad. I have no idea how it didn't catch fire as the lint was scorched! Here it is all cleaned up. I filled a couple of small Shop Vacs tubs with lint from this.

Remember that nasty filter pic earlier?

All better. I cleaned out the 'smell good' tube and as there was still liquid in the bottle, it has that 'Kenmore Smell' to it when running.

I'm surprised that the timer dial does not have a backlight. For a higher end model, I'd have expected it. The main florescent bulb will need to be changed eventually as it takes a short time to light up.

Wow, that turned out nice! It appears to have been lightly used over the last 47 years.

Thank you, Troy.

I WISH I had the matching washer. That'd be cool.

I have found nothing wrong so far that would require kicking this one to the curb. I'll bet the new dryer is running quite poorly due to the cruddy vent that sent this one packing. Their loss, my gain. So, yet another dryer in my collection that I'll have to find a matching washer for...
