I was shocked when my GE post filter-flo washer lasted that long. That's saying something. Like I said, I consider Speed Queen Classic the indie rock of washers and dryers. Simple and effective, no flashiness, and has everything you need. Just like the drums in indie rock have simple grooves with the 3 most important cymbals like hats on verses, ride cymbal on chorus, and crash during transition. Nothing else. That's it. That's all you need. Just some clean vibes through and through. Need I say more? And you can't find it anywhere else. Too many people just want flashiness and style instead of substance.

A lot of youtube repair techs will talk about how all other appliances are junk and that your best option would be a SQ... but it annoys me that they never elaborate on the TR 7 being pretty bad in comparison to the other SQ models..I feel like in their mind as long as it's SQ it will last and that's all that matters... it doesn't matter if it rolls over the load painfully slow. If I were a tech making videos recommending SQ, I would at least say (avoid this particlar series) but the rest are fine..

I've seen it do pretty well at rolling over a load if it's something like sheets or towels..but jeans or anything stiff...the yellow microfiber cloth thrown in on the top STAYED on the top through the ENTIRE wash... It just floated there the entire time.

I'm glad you liked my analogy of Speed Queen Classic and indie rock music. I should also mention that both are gentle yet effective. Speed Queen's agitation is long and slow yet gets the job done and is gentle on your laundry without beating the fibers out of them, just like indie rock is gentle on your ears. Chill and mellow, yet melodious and full of substance. Again this is just an analogy. See them above.

pragmatic washer and indie rock analogy

Speed Queen Classic Laundry is a pragmatic washer and dryer pair, just like indie rock is a pragmatic style of music. nice and smooth, chill vibes, just like Speed Queen Classic cleanliness gives me the vibe of fresh and clean clothes.

Indie music?

Since when is indie music "nice and smooth"? It can be any style of music. Remember Grunge?

I don't worry about the TR series, my wife wanted a top loader, so I chose the TC5. No one will force you to get the TR.

I've done about 8 loads so far (three weeks old), and I like it. Have only used the "bulky" setting so far, seems perfect for a standard load, and only takes 35 minutes. Haven't even tried deep fill yet, except for initial test load to clean the new washer. Bulky water level is about right for our loads, covers the clothes/towels, etc.

Indie

Just questioning describing indie music as "nice and smooth". Zappa and Punk were probably the originals in indie music. Definitely not nice or smooth. Indie just means independent record label.

I hope you got the metaphor of a Speed Queen Classic and indie rock due to their rhythmic sound and feel, which is steady and simple, straightforward. It's like Speed Queen Classic has to just wash, rinse, and spin right as does indie rock just has your typical song structure with verses, choruses/bridges, and a transition. No excessive drum solos like you hearin heavy metal like what GE would do with it's excessive banging around the cabinet. Actually, that's what GE post FF would at the drums. I hope you get that metaphor again. Or maybe excessive drum solos wouldbe like adding steam to the wash. Chetlaham, help me out with this metaphor here. I think I'm onto something.

Just saw a random video on youtube... not a professional one. Just a lady videoing her garden stains and her speed queen. Apparently, she lived in a duplex type setup with her son being on the other side. She used to have a whirlpool front loader which she gave to him that's on the other side... It looked older...Like maybe 2014 or so.. So she sprayed her stained with dirt garden shorts with shout...put them in the Speed queen TR... the stain was still there. She sounded like she knew nothing about washers... but she said if she has really dirty stuff, she has to take it over to her sons front loader and wash them in that... LOL... which she did... and they came clean.

tc5 best seller

Maybe because they don't want to know the truth. The perfect wash wasn't all that's cracked up to be. It's too gentle, even on the allegedly heavy duty cycle. That may explain why it doesn't clean work and play clothes like the classic clean does. It may be fine for office clothes or if you are just lounging around.

Very well said. It's like you have to wash the above on heavy duty to get things clean. It's still gentle on heavy duty anyway, so you can wash delicate items on that cycle due to how the wash action is. They're still being sold, believe it or not. It's also fine for retired folks.
