I had no idea that solid tub washers were designed that way. I always assumed there was some sort of outer tub for receiving the drain water. Makes sense just to use the outer cabinet, since there is no need to bring the water level up to the top of the cabinet (which would be horrendously wasteful of water if it was designed that way).

Some solid tub washers DO have outer tubs that the water is thrown into. I don't know if any makers other than Frigidaire and Hotpoint used the outer cabinet to catch the water spun out of the inner tub. Anyone know?

I had a dream last night that I saw it making the suds whipped cream thing. I took the panel off and ate some and it acctually tasted like whipped cream :-9 but then I woke up....

Apex and early ABC-O-Matic/Kelvinators also threw the water in their cabinets.

I did the same thing, except mine tasted like Oxydol.
