wo-65 pump parts

hey have a question??? i am in need of pump parts for my WO-65.. seem she is now leaking on the floor. figures right.. the last time i was in there was a few weeks ago to try and tighten up the set secrw because the fan seems to likes to run loose and jingle jangle as it runs, well that didnt go to well i cant get the screw to either tighten or come off even with heat. but since she has run like this for years i was just gonna let it go. but now the pump seal is shot so im gonna have to ruin the impeller to get the screw out to change the seal.. so if i can find a seal and impeller i would be really happy.. anyone out there have any idea where or who to try.. would be awesome and thanks lots...

you need to really heat it red hot and then hit it with a hammer- thats what Robert taught me to do and it always seems to work. Finding a seal will be a whole lot easier than a new pump impeller.

Even if you busted the impeller off how would that help you in getting the screw out of the end of the motor shaft?  I had one that I heated up and the head broke off the screw.  I wound up having to drill the screw out, unfortunately on the one I was working on someone had let it leak for a very long time, the rust had destroyed the threads in the end of the motor shaft and also went on up and ate up the lower bearing in the motor.  There was no recovering all of the rust damage and I wound up converting it to gravity drain, 2 weeks later it blew the mechanism support, also due to rust.  I say all of that to say, exercise caution as it can quickly become a delicate procedure.

Try heating the motor shaft - if you have a torch with longer nozzle tube, you can reach it. I melted an impeller off a farm machine I was tearing down for parts - heat it for too long and the pot-metal impeller will return to liquid form!

question.. Jon when you say heat it red hot do you really mean red hot? i did try heat and a hammer but not enough heat to the point of making it red hot i was afraid that i would hurt either the motor since the shaft would carry the heat up or melt a part that i didnt want to melt. maybe i didnt heat it enough i can try that again this weekend.

Greg has a point

you don't want the pot metal turning molten but you have to heat it within an inch of its life. Thats what Robert taught me, - I heated mine to the point where the rubber seal behind the impeller was smoking. That did it.

Odd Joel you found rusted threads, they used SS screws for the impeller.
