After a long thought of what should go I've decided to part with my 1952 Frigidaire Filtrator dryer shown in the picture below. It have the 1958 Filtrator and will keep that one but I'm at the point now that when something comes in something else has to go. This is a wonderful dryer and this washer/dryer set went to Hollywood about five years ago when I rented it to Sony Pictures to appear in the film Mona Lisa Smile starring Julia Roberts. You get to see it mid way in the movie when Kirstin Dunst shows off her new washer and dryer set that her wonderful doctor husband just bought her lol.

The machine is in good working condition, but its front rollers need lubricating as its starting to get a bit squeaky. Its a relatively fast and easy repair.

Anyway, I'm not looking to make a buck here or any of this silent auction stuff. Its free to a good home, it would cost about $225-$275 to ship it to most areas in the USA via YouCrate. Email me if you are interested, first come serve.

matching dryer for your 55?

I have the matching white dryer to your 55 custom imperial robert. Would you like it? I'm looking to thin out my collection too, same goes for my 58 pink filtrator...

How does the filter "drawer" work on this dryer?

IIRC this is a condenser dryer that takes cool air from the room and passes it over a heat exchanger-- the "drawer" itself-- warmed (but DRY) air is then returned to the room.

As the dryer's internal "loop" of warm-moist air passes over the heat-exchanger it and is cooled and can not hold as much water-vapor in suspension. Moisture therefore condenses out of the air stream. Partially dried air in the dryer's itnernal loop is reheated, raising its ability to hold moisture. The air them passes over the clothing picking up more moistre and drying the clothes. The processes repeat until the load is dry, or the timer shuts off the machine, whichever comes firt.

Guys correct me here............
