Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Isn't that the era of Maytag

wherein the data plate is a little triangle of aluminum
in the RIGHT or left rear of the lid opening?

Won't that be nice when we all chip in and get Robert
a nice Harvest Gold of that model for his 12th anniversary of
collecting? He will quickly learn how to dodge the wringer
assembly, therby avoiding facial bappation. He'll learn how to hang his hip huggers using six clothespins for each pair;
which provides a mangled to perfection finish! :>

Robert is correct on the deselect AUTOMATIC button on the lower end Maytag models. However,to deactivate, you have to face the washer north, stand on one foot(left)and simultanously press the SMALL LOAD and HOT button for the thing to actually consider to expel the wringer for the NON-AUTOMATIC option. If you haven't done that from the time the washer was first purchased, you must then climb to the Valley of the Dolls to get a shrubbery to place on top of the control panel. Not too big, however.

wow petersex, your washer looks as though it has always been used in the "automatic" mode. The "automatic" button is so white compared to the often used temp and load size buttons. I bet that feature has only been used a few times on your machine.
That's understandable.

Automatic button

Actually the AUTOMATIC button slides to the side to reveal the remote-control receiver.
To go into auto-mode use the righthand button on an old Zenith Space Command 100 remote if you don't have the original Maytag remote.
