You can use the machine on manual if you turn the program card to off. it will keep there until you turn it back on.. use a blank card for manual operation. the Wascomat I had was FL 75 but was at least 10 years ago when we traded it in for the 150 Edro Dyna Wash which weighs 2300 lbs.and was a nightmare to get in. Took folklift and 3 men to get it in place. You should NOT have any problems finding any parts you need for that machine, They are still widely used, A lot of them in shirt laundries. the main thing you want to be sure of is too KEEP the cards CLEAN, Spray them with wd 40 about once a mo. and it will keep the reader running right.Wash the off with warm water and let them air dry about once a mo also. If you have to buy any they are EXPENSIVE. If you can find a soap rep that has some left he might just give them to you as they rarely have a use for them anymore. Did you get the card cutter with it? The first pic of the cards are the ones I remember but the other cards may work as well. They had 2 or 2 different styles for those machines. Wascomat tech service is pretty nice to help if you call them just let them think you are a laundry melvins laundry ect. they are not so hip on helping some one off the street. They are just that way.. There a lot of dealers that will help you too. and many of the parts houses will be glad to help. As said there a lot of places that sell Wasco parts.

Mac:
No, didn't get a card cutter with it. I did find a manual of the FL EXSM 35 on-line that gives me an idea of how to cut the cards, and how to read the program on them. However, the functions for that machine are slightly different. Do you still have the manuals to the FL 75 machine you had?

Sorry melvin

They are long gone.. Wascomat will help you with it I am sure. Or pretty sure you can still get a manual for it with out too much problem.

Thanks Mac. I'll give them a call within a week or two. Overall, the machine looks very good for being ~24 years old. My Series 1 W-73 machine is in much worse shape. Who ever had this machine took very good care of it. Whether the electrics are in the same condition, we will see.

Just got back from another trip, only to bring home another machine and some parts!
This is a tray to Wascomat Gen3 series(no timer).

Just could not resist one of these series 2 W123's. All 4 of the machines look bad and need body work and other restoration. I got the best looking one out of the 4. Looks similar to these series 2 machines. It is rated as a 30LB machine, was made ~1979. weighs ~450LB. I have a gen3 series 1 machine that I will compare this one with when I start restoring them.

Heavyweights!

Wow - I didn't know that anyone was collecting the big commercial units!

On the early Series 1 W73 machines - I wonder how old they are - perhaps 1970s?

Back in the '70's I remember seeing Wascomats in many laundromats. I also remember seeing big front loaders with the name "Chore Boy" but I don't recall if that was a model or a brand name.

Good luck with the restorations!

Hi Andrew,
The Series 1 W73 machines in post 487116 are dated ~1974. They were all installed at the same time. The series1 W73 that I have came from this mat. It was one of the machines farther down the row. If you look at my profile, you'll see that I have a few big machines now. The picture of the machine in my avatar is what I use as a daily driver.
