When are manufacturers going to put rotisseries back in full-sized ovens..? Besides BOSCH which is about $10,000 LOL.

Interesting notes

My wife got this off Ebay like 6 or 7 years ago. It was cheap, and oddly, missing one of its rear peg feet. If you don't push on it, it balances fine believe it or not, just on its three feet. I forget sometimes it is missing one. I keep saying I will make one for it, but just don't miss it.

It came with a drip pan, a rack, a cookie sheet and a little bent piece of metal that we have no idea what to use it for. It can bake and broil, but we have only used it for the application as shown.

I need to get some good chrome cleaner and brush and redo the lid. It was perfect when we got it, but we have used it so much it is a bit discolored as you can see.

Tonight, I cooked a 2.5 lb tri tip on medium for 1.5 hours, basically the formula I always use with it, and man it was perfect!

Yum! Those tri tips are GREAT! One cannot find those in Indiana. My uncle from Califonia introduced us to the tri tip.
I love your vintage chrome Kenmore Countertop oven. That would be just the thing to have during the hot summer months. Take it outside and plug it in even, to avoid heating up the kitchen.
Vintage "smalls" are so much fun to have. Thanks for sharing..... Now what time should we be over for dinner again??

R2D2 Rotisserie

I like the tabletop rotisseries to! Especially the old Sunbeam ones, which remind me of that famous cinema android ;-)

I found one of these in an old house years ago and just love it. It's really a great piece of equipment AND a conversation piece.

Another fun rotisserie

Here's a groovy GE I found at St. Vinnies a few years back. According to Virgina Garvey (the Manager of The Home Economics Portable Appliance Department!!!) it will help you prepare "Delectable, Perfectly-Prepared foods", such as "Bachelor's Meatloaf and "Company Crab Cakes"!!!!

And the rotisserie stick is handy for defending yourself in the case of kitchen violence ;-)

Those metal square reduction gears resonating through the metal cabinet make a noise like nothing else.

My grandpa had one of those. Used to sit and watch it rotiss the pork to juicy perfection.

Remember the Barbeque pit rotisseries? My grandpa had this COOOL late 60s-early 70s charcoal grill with a window lid and rotisserie attachment. I actually have film (transferred to video) of the thing in action. no sound but you can see a beautiful pork roast rotissing away.

Pork roasts are tricky in the Ronco. You only have 1 rod supporting most of it and the other holding on to a piece.

The traditional way is to run the spit rod along the bone and stick the forks or whatever wherever they can grip. Hold both ends and give it a turn. If it's unbalanced try again. If it's pretty much balanced (it's never perfect) than start'er up!

Also I remember pausing to tighten the forks on each end because of the meat shrinking.

It is supposedly a conversion...

That some dealers did with factory materials. I had been discussing this with some other jukebox experts here and outside, and it does not appear to have the Quad setup as it has been described, but it is not clear either. It did work at one point, now it needs a good service. It is one trippy machine.

The standard one has the same design in the top panel as the bottom, it is the Matador model. No one can define how the top came to be, it's not been found in any books yet, so it must be a factory sponsored, dealer conversion....
