a BIG THANK YOU!!!

Thanks so much to everyone who took the time to comment on the car purchase for my son. For those of you that offer parental advice I appreciate that as well. I struggle with the fact he is a senior and does not have a job. Times were different in my day..but...he maintains a good GPA and has several lawns he mows on the weekends. He's a very good basket ball player and I've had 3 different team coachs tell me he's a good canidate for athletic scholarships..but he's going to need ability as well as grades. I'm not in a position to send him to school without financial aide, grants and scholarships...so I really encourgae him to keep up his school work and pratice. A car for him would make my life so much easier!!!
I called the seller and told them I would pass. Some of the comments from the group about maintaince, availailbe of parts ect..made me think I need to keep looking. I think the one that dinged me most was the one made my "Hydralique" and the AC...he's probably right..the AC did'nt work..I was thinking maybe a recharge..but more than likely it's a part that's no longer available or very expensive..and there's only one dealer here and they are located in the high rent district part of town. I'm sure based on the age of the vechiel there will be many other parts that need replacing and not availiable at the local Auto Zone. My neighbor has a co-worker that's getting ready to sell a Honda..apparently it belongs to a family member that's receiving Hospice..they are waiting on the family member to pass..which apparently is'nt anticipated to be much longer. So thanks again guys..I hate to admit I had to restrain myself from ploping down the cash on the spot.. my son fell in love with this car..it's the first one that was descent and he got excited over..thanks for giving me a rational prospective on things. You all are always the BEST!!!

Oh, but Suze says Never, Never, NEVER EVER lease!

I agree with what everyone is saying, although my sister had Subaru and liked it a lot. Does your son ever use any public transportation? I know not every area has it but if he could use more of it might save having to have a car so much. By the way, since he goes to choir practice, how is he as a singer? Maybe he can get a music scholarship too. And as my Aunt Mary would say: "Women like it when men are interested in music". Soon, I will be asking car/truck advice too.
