Pics for those who are interested of the forst wash the Zanussi did today after a full clean up.

Did a load of heavy cottons on 40degrees.

Amazing! Two of my aunties had the other versions of the machine. One had the 1015 which was the build under model with the double door thingie and the other had a WDi9091.

Both machines innards were the same. Always loved the whoosh when it went up to 1000rpm because the machine would get quieter the faster it spun.

I would be chuffed to bits if you could record the final cottons spin! :-)

David

P.S. The 1015s lettering rubbed off on the knob so you had to try and guess where you were going. Was always fun trying to guess where "R" was on it! go too early and you were hit with 60 degrees!

how do David.

certainly will try and get a vid for you - will have to wait till next weekend. we will see how she goes.

have posted a piccy of the wd1015, which is from a copy of 'which' magazine.

and of the familair wdi9091, a number of which appeared on ebay a short while back - i can remember us discussing them back then. great looking machine.

did attempt to get some vids of the wd1012 today, but alsorts ws going on in the kitchen at the time (cooking, washing up etc) and, because the machine is so quiet, what noise it was making was inaudible.

roll on next weekend - with a bit of luck.

cheers
paul

You guys have had a great month for finds! This one i'm loving! As an avid zanny fan! These machines were some of the best ever made! My zanny's are my favourite machines!

Darren

Hi Darren.

Kind of has gone all a bit mad! should be able to squeeze them all into storage.

said to Rob how it was weird that, as one classic Zanussi is snatched away from me (quite literally stolen) then another appears down the bottom of the road.

wish it would all slow down a bit, so's me and Rob can catch a breath.

cheers
paul

That picture of the 1015 is a keeper. My aunties lost the door when they moved house and it was freestanding. Looked pretty daft really haha!

Thank you! I've got a picture somewhere of me in front of the Wdi9091 in a fetching jumper but i can't find it! Need to hunt out negatives!

You guys are getting all the luck! Only machines i see around are classics from the year 2000! Hmpf!

David

question

Could you explane me the selector dial of WD1012?
I don't understand it!
B = PREWASH 40 MAIN WASH 95° RINSES AND SPIN
C = WITHOUT PREWASH 95° RINSES AND SPIN
D =PREWASH 40 MAIN WASH 60° RINSES AND SPIN
F = WITHOUT PREWASH 60°
Is it possible that washmachine has two prewash in the same wash cicle?
prewash 40(B)- drain - main wash 95(C) prewash 40(D)-drain-main wash 60(F)

Nicola

It is possible as the timer - although its a clicky crouzet type timer and not one of those awful modern electronic excuses that dont move - to operate this or it wouldnt be like this.

I have yet to do a boil wash but I will on Saturday when I have more whites.

I suspect it does a pre wash then commences into the main cycle as normal until it reaches the end of that portion of mainwash before the next prewash.

I would imagine that before it enters prewash 2 a relay advances it straight past prewash 2 and into the next main wash section to complete the cycle.

We will see what happens on saturday I guess.

On these timers, the water only drains out after the second prewash (between D and F) if the temperature is below 60c.

If programme C is chosen, when the timer gets to D the temperature is already above 60c. If D is chosen the water is heated to 40c only. Therefore, between D and F the water is drained ready for the main wash.

The same happens on my Z9191T.

Tom.

Hi David.

Havent forgotten about the spin vid, but we didnt have time this weekend - had to get the machine into store. When we bring it out, I will get a spin vid for you.
Real sorry for not being able to sort it out this weekend.

Hi Tom.
Cheers for the techincal diagram and information. A copy is save in my WD1012 folder. Much obliged.

Paul

Wow! :)

So much to say that I can’t even put it into words!

Now hang on a minute, Rob! ;) You know I love mechanical timers, too, but you know I’m also a computer nerd, so pack it in with the insults hurled at anything electronic! :P I know you don’t like *anything* technological made from 1990 onwards, but come on! ;)

Paul, I do hope you are bringing Rob into at least the 1990s now! ;) Hope you’re doing OK, too, Paul. :)

Darren, you know you have all of my favourite machines, which still upsets me! ;)

Lovely photos and lots of very interesting facts. :) Thanks, guys. :) I do find the range of programmes on these machines fascinating. Crumbs, I’d be sitting at my grandmother’s looking at her washing machine’s list of programmes for quite some time… and I’d look at them again… and again… and again!

I’ll leave it there for now, chaps. Just a very quick note to say I’m sorry I’ve been pretty poor at getting on here and keeping in touch online and offline (text messaging, etc.), but most of you know the old excuses by now. :) Drop me a line if you want – I’ll always reply. :)

Thanks again, and keep those pictures and information coming, and here’s to some videos! :)

Take care. :)

Regards,

Carl :)

PS Goodness me! It is so hot here at the moment! LOL :)

Zanussi

Someone i know has a Zanussi 1000 rpm.It is 17 years old i think.I dont know the model.I always remember it by the super high level cooldown. The thermostat is on its way though.I liked the 400 click 500 stop type of spins. It isnt a washer dryer. It does have a matching dryer with an enourmous silver drum!
