Beautiful

Hi Mike,

That is a gorgeous machine.....what a find! I bet you can't wait to demonstrate it at your house this weekend at the wash-in! How perfect that you were able to get replacement seals for it too.

Very, very cool find! These are fun washers. Greg ran his Coppertone GE Combo during a visit a few years ago. Always enjoyed the sound of the aux motor shifting it from tumble to spin.

And parts? Congrats!!

Too cool!

I'd love to play around with one of those to see what makes it tick. Is there any preventative measures that can be taken with that rust on the outer tub?

What a fantastic find!
It does look mint. That little old rust is nothing!
Congratulations!

Thanks everyone for the comments.

You are going to have to educate me on this machine as I get into it.

Please explain more about the care of the belts. By the way, in the extra parts box are two belts and a new timer - not sure these parts are for my specific machine - but they are supposedly combo parts.

They told me that it leaked when tested a number of years ago. Is it advisable to get some water into the machine and just let the machine set and get acclimated to having water in there?

I also noticed - there's no dryer vent! What's that all about? Please someone tell me.

Paul, I don't have near enough laundry to last Friday evening, let alone the whole weekend. Pack an extra bag!

Andrew, Don't yet know the full extent of the rust.

Brent, You must feel that the rust is correctable?

Again, thanks everyone.

Mike

I think that the belts look very strong! I would just do a water test and see what you see.
I would do what Robert always suggests and put a gallon or so of hot water into the tub and let it sit a bit before running.
You have a great machine there.
Have fun!
Brent

Maybe next time. Good luck a have a good one.

A spare timer as well???

Mike, you must have horseshoes up your .... anyway.... lol
Sounds like your combo will last forever!! WOW!!
As for the belts, if ever need any, I have a supplier in the styx between Ogden and Magog who can get any kind of replacement belt - most are even in stock!

Condenser or Vented Combo

This GE Combo looks like the one I had in the 70s. If it is, the combo is a condenser dryer.

Wow - that's a great looking machine! The parts will be invaluable to you through the years to keep it washing "Piece-By-Piece" in that beautiful six-vane drum.

I did notice some water trails and rust on the tub-back band so there could be a leak somewhere that needs attention before trying to put this guy into use.

I love my GE combo - you will too!
