Avocado GE cooktop, never installed

Uh...

It wasn't worth anywhere near that when it was brand new. This was the new reich GE dumbing-down Louisville's designs at its worst. This cooktop had some elegance and utility when the controls were remotely installed on a hood or a wall. It's a good cooktop, if you like that sort of thing, but unless you're trying to complete an Avocado retro ensemble, that price is a little beyond ridiculous. But, as I've always said, "whatever the market will bear".

I agree, it is pricey, especially for what it is. I further agree that the models with the separate controls were much more elegant. Just thought I'd share in case anyone felt the urge.

Late 70s-Early GE 30" Electric Cook-Top

Even though the asking price is almost three times the orignal retail price, I will challenge anyone to name a better cook-top made anywhere near this time period.

This CT was beautifully designed for cooking, easy cleaning, great burner arrangement and most of all the BEST DURABILITY of ANY CT made, EVER.
