appnut

do what i did. i drove over an hour, from san antonio to austin because i just had to know what all the fuss was about, and i went alone. it was fun, and although the movies maudlin theme was a little painful, im glad i saw it. you dont need someone else to watch a movie!

It opened Fri. 1/20 in Midland and Odessa, TX and it is still playing here, wonder why it would not be in San Antonio. Unfortunately it hasn't made it to the Drive-in yet.

Gene /Rinso.
(Your astrological sign is a blast, BTW).
Thanks for sharing your story. Makes the movie even more real to me. [The damn Yankees city-slicker].

Your guardian angels are always with you. They will be seeing it with you.

Clinton and Stephanopoulos?
Hands on hips, swishiest voice and lisp possible, sachet in walk. R U saying all Greeks are G--? I resemble that remark.
LOL ROFL LMAO. Can you imagine Clinton's cigar in THAT scenario? EEWWWWWWW.

Can`t wait seeing Brokeback Mountain. Unfortunately I will have to wait until March for the start in Germany. Is there anyone from the Munich area among you guys to join me?
By the way, I want to introduce myself, I am new to this site and I love it. Good to know that I am not the only one on the world who likes vintage washers!
No offence, but I really can`t tell which of the fundamentalist should scare me better, the Christians or the Moslems?

Oscar Nominations

I have it on good authority that Brokeback Mountain has been nominated for:

Lead Actor
Supporting Actor
Supporting Actress (Michelle Williams)
Cinematography
Director
Original Score
Picture of the Year
Adapted Screenplay.

I was wondering how they figured out who was lead actor and supporting actor. My friend Karen said it was determined by amount of screen time. I though it was based on top/bottom ;)

I actually got the nerve up to see it this morning. I"m still not sure waht to think. I kept a shell around me to keep my emotions in check (very unlike me). It is haunting.

Allen is here visiting and we went to see it today too. I thought it was an excellent movie. Some parts are hard to watch, and it's the first time I've cried at a movie (several times in fact) in a long time. But it was very well done, and I think if it does well at the Oscars, that will send a message that really needs to be sent.

BTW, I think we were the only gay people in the theater. Several middle aged straight couples, and many senior citizen women. I saw several of them leaving the theater while waiting for Allen to come from the restroom, and I could tell they had been crying, too.
