And actually the last gasp for English Electric as a stand alone brand (rather than a label stick on Hotpoints) it was branded Electra for sale through electricity boards - this is a direct descendant of the Rapide series cookers. And the only British manufacturer of the time to offer a coloured appliances (as opposed to white or variations of black and stainless steel) - others came after but I believe this to be the first. They also came in green and brown

Another English Electric - In Luton

The predecessor model to the EE Rapide back up the thread. Given that this cooker is some 50 years old it is in remarkably good condition. This cooker is around 18-19 inches wide and the pictures give a good example of the oven and inner door arrangement. By the way the elements are on the left and right hand side of the oven behind the removable stay clean linings.
