Hi, My name is Rich, and I'm becoming a laundry Detergent and Fabric Softner Junkie.
Well, you'd think after living here all my life(43yrs) I would know what stores we have here. I don't know where my brain has been lately, but its not been too focused on where's what!
Anyway, for quite a while, I've been reading everyones post's about Mexican Laundry Detergents ect, wishing I could try all the laundry stuff everyone have been talking about that sound so fun.
For some unknown reason, I didn't remember that we HAVE a mexican grocerie Store, and its been here for a long while. It's called "Yakimex"(Honest, thats what its really called.)
After trying all the regular stores with some mexican items and being dissappointed not finding what I was after, I decided, hey, lets give that mexican store a shot, I wonder if they have some laundry detergent and fabric softner that I've been hearing about.
SOOO......Saturday after work, while it was still on my mind, I go to Yakimex to search for some Laundry Detergents(other than what I have already[Ariel, Foca, REAL],{that I did find here}and some ACE, thanks to Venus.
All I will say, is Yakimex has a new customer! They have everything! So, I splurged a bit. I got: Rindex(Yellow bag),Salvo(Green bag), AXION Limon(Red Bag),1-2-3(regular),1-2-3Fuerza Azul(turquoise bag)[like the smell!],Lirio(light green/blue bag)[another one that smells good],Ariel OxiAzul MAX with a touch of DOWNY,(that smells WONDERFUL!)[can't wait to try that one!],VIVA perlas activas(deep blue bag) [another good smelling one],VIVA Perlas Activas LAVANDA(purple bag)[another good smelling one],AND Chinese TIDE!!!
All were small bags(500-600g) and they were cheap too!

So next on the list to add to my stach, is Fabric softners. Any recommandtions of fabric softeners to get?
I've already got a laundry basket full of just Detergents( thats not including): Regular Tide[costco size]Tide cold water, CHEER Regular,GAIN Regular and ISAND Fresh,[**note, all are big boxes] and costco size woolite Regular.

As far as Fabric Softeners, all I have is: Costco size Downy Regular,[which Im getting close to being out], and just added 2-64oz Suavitel[morning sun and Lilac essence]
So, I will be stocked for a LONG time!

but, I have a new toy to use this all in, a 82(?) Whirlpool Imperial 70, SUPER capcity, 2 speed, WITH a "Double Duty Super Surgilator"[The Winged one!]MODEL: LA7800XPW1[got it about a week ago monday]I was due for a washer anyway. I've been a washing fool this last week!(and I LOVE IT!!!)

Thats my confession. feel free to add suggustions please.

So, I see Venus has converted another member of the family to Mexican detergents, LOL. She's responsible for my haunting Mex grocery stores in search of products, too.

By far, my favorite is Ariel Oxi-Azul Max, followed by Viva, Ace (I like the Acti-Blu version which has the lime scent) and 1-2-3. I love the almond cookie smell of Chinese Tide, too, but don't have access to it.

I've been converted to Mexican Downy, the non-ultra concentrated type---the Floral Scent version. It comes in relatively small bottles and I only use it on bedding. You know you have the right version if the instructions say to use 2 capfuls. The scent lasts for days, which I like for bedding, but not other clothes.
After years of using Downy April Fresh, my allegiance has now switched to Quixtar's SA8 Original Scent fabric softener. Love the light scent it leaves, plus it has no waxy compounds to compromise absorbency in bath towels.

What a stash ! What a stash!

Yeah. It's fun to try different laundry products. One of my passions, too. You know it's funny that most of the detergents made in other countries are manufactured by two of our global giants-P&G and Unilever. They're just renamed for different regions and they also come in different scents. P&G, Unilever, and Colgate-Palmolive pretty much have the globe covered when it comes to soap and detergent!! It's clear that you're going international as far as your detergent choices lately, but have you tried Fab Rain Forest powder? It cleans really well and I just love the scent. Colgate-Palmolive sold this brand to another company but it's still available at the dollar stores. As for fabric softener, I've tried two Mexican brands. Ensueno and Suavitel. They both come in blue and yellow bottles and I tried both. The aroma was pleasant and my clothes came out very soft, however, the Suavitel Morning Sun is my current fav. There's another mexican softener that I've seen on the store shelves. It's called Suavibrisa. Have you heard of this one? The bottle is very similiar to Suavitel. In fact, it comes across to me, as a Suavitel wanna be! I have yet to try this one and don't know if I ever will. I've tried a lot of fabric softeners and the majority of them were good. But, lately, I've been pining for my all-time favorite-April Fresh Downy.

this site IS dangerous. let me see.. ive bought Tide, Suavitel, Borax, Oxy Clean, Lever2000 Bath Soap, A&H Essentuals and Cheer all because of this site and its members. all were recommended by members here. and i'll tell you one thing, i do not regret getting a single one!

i previously thought Tide was all marketing. i used to use Purex. one or two loads of whites and i was shocked at the effectiveness.

im now obsessed with optical brighteners and sudsing. i used Cheer in a front-loader tonight (Dexter at Laundromat) and was horrified at the suds in the final rinse. this after only using about three or four tablespoons of it (Cheer).

next on my list is Fab. Btw, is the liquid Fab as good as the powder?

this site will fuel anyones laundry tendencies.

brettsomers

Yes, despite its' cost Tide is probably one of the best detergents in the world. And, its no surprise considering P&G is one of our oldest companies. As for Fab, I'm currently using the Rain Forest powder. It performs well and smells really good. I haven't tried the liquid Fab but have heard positive things about it. Have you heard of the website Expotv? It's a site where anyone can upload a video clip of their opinion of a product. To get the scoop on liquid Fab go to www.Expotv and type Fab detergent in the search box. Scroll down to the numbers at the bottom of the page. You may have to click on several numbers until you get it, but it's on there. I just viewed it a few minutes ago. There were two videopinions on liquid Fab. One from a man and the other from a lady.
