Oh good grief. That's the fridge my parents bought when they moved into their new house in 1948 and was the fridge we had in our kitchen until around late 1964 or early 1965 when my grandmother moved to the high-rise apartment building and we got her 1957 Frigidaire fridge. It had the 1957 grill on the bottom of the fridge. Was white. Had one big door with a small freezer door inside. The plastic was pink. It was running well when my mom decided she wanted one of those SxS and an ice maker--turned out to be a Gibson that had a flex-tray type of icemaker that made 1/2 bubble-looking things.
Yes, Everything here on the Cape costs more because it has to come over the Bridge that has No Toll.
I call it the "Bridge Tax". In the winter I do most of my shopping "Off Cape" as we call it. The BJs on the Cape is more like a Convienence Store. Limited Selection, and higher prices.
But back to the Kelvinator... Ugly and Overpriced. Another "Make a Fast Buck" on CL.
