Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Dollar Tree is perfect for vacation needs because they sell all kinds of things in small packages, so I know some of their goods.
Usually prefer other detergent formats but one time I bought a Dollar Tree powder not sure if it was Fresh and Clean and I wasn`t impressed. It did the job for my needs but I wouldn`t want to use something like this on a regular basis.
It was just what you`d expect from one of those super cheap American or Mexican powders, like Roma, Foca or the Surf from your other thread. Lots of washing soda mixed with anionic surfactants, OBAs and fragrance, that`s it. It even gave directions how to wash walls and floors and whatever with it.

If it stated for walls and floors then what you got at Dollar Tree then was the Sun detergent by SunCorp, the one cup formula that they carried for years and years at dollar tree.
Said that, I actually think it wasn't that bad.
Yes the classic version didn't have oxygen or any bleach in it but there also was a with bleach version carried along that did pretty well.
The 1 cup Sun formula in small cartons was anyways a different formula than the one sold in cartons 40 or 80 loads ( that was then called Triple Clean) and different from the one sold in large plastic buckets, and in fact was not multipurpose.
The one sold in buckets was indeed a mere surfactant powder with no bleach or enzyme sold as multipurpose low foam powder, the buckets mentioned it multi-purpose detergent and was pretty much the same thing of Wind Fresh powder and the Costco Kirkland powder in buckets.
Mostly carbonate with some surfactant and defoamers.
Speaking of Mexico stuff and the two powders you mentioned from La Corona soap factory I have to say that Roma is much different than Foca.
While Roma is a mere surfactant powder good for multi-purpose Foca also have enzymes along, beside being blue the formula got natural soap in it, it doesn't have oxygen but it's pretty good and anyways better than the multi-purpose powders mentioned before and much better than Roma.
Anyways the fresh n clean powder seems to be a proper laundry detergent not multi-purpose, with blue speckles.

I only use

Persil liquid now, and Lysol laundry sanitizer added for our gym wear. One hour cycle in the new Samsung front loader with 4 rinses. About another 8 minutes with 5. Cleans so much better than the now gone Whirltag Bravos X top loader.

I shop dollar tree

For donations to the hygiene pantry. Many of the homeless or transient people can't use of carry large quantities, so the single use of trial sizes are just perfect for their needs, and it doesn't break the bank to help them out either.

Dollar Tree

Well Dollar Tree actually is one of my favourite stores, lots of good things actually and also buy many OTC drugs.
For certain things they have a good deal for others you better buy them in larger packages, sometimes it's the case of detergents and home care.
Yes a lot of people doing charity and the food pantries of churches helping families in need shop Dollar for hygiene items and food, they directly buy cartons of stuff and yes as you say it doesn't break the bank to help, I mean if you donate a $12 case of 12 packs laundry detergent you help 12 families doing 3-4 loads of laundry, and the convenience relies on the small packages they sell.
You'll often find branded items like gain or others in small bottles but you also find cheap brands like La's totally awesome in bigger bottles and they are not that bad.
I liked the sun color Bleach powder additive (percarbonate+enzymes).
They also used to carry a chlorinated old school dishwasher powder that was just fine and I do have 2 cases of it to use yet. But I think it was very worth the deal.
But actually as others have said sometimes it is just more convenient to buy bigger boxes like when they used to sell Sun laundry detergent, out of one box of 1cup formula you got like 3 to 4 loads, 5 at best, while for example at Walmart Kroger etc you get a 40 scoops package for 4 to 5 dollars.
In terms of weight and cost what you got in bigger boxes was cheaper.

The new Fresh and clean powder carried now appears to be a good amount of powder, possibly getting like 8 to 10 loads out of it..
I am curious to try it out.
