Dryer Maintenance [SPEED QUEEN]

Well, the temps are warming up outside. Time to perform the semi-annual dryer maintenance which is a disassemble and cleaning of lint build-up. I took the opportunity to order some parts from the PWS website last weekend. They arrived today. Time for a new belt and some rollers. All in all, the parts pricing came to around $28 dollars. I think that is acceptable for a dryer that is coming up on 5 years old.

I plan to re-level the washer at the same time. Not sure why it seems to shimmy out of kilter each year.

That will be my excitement for the weekend.

Malcome...why all the work?

My Whirlpool is well over 10 years old and have never changed a belt or rollers.

I do make sure the duct is clean and check the conditon of the belt but that's about it.

You could probably go a LOT longer than 5 years and save yourself the time.

Twice A Year

I clean out the dryer twice a year. <OCD>
Decided to replace parts because I needed a minimum 50 dollar order to get free shipping.

Were you able to get the discoloration off the heat outlet grill?

I often see that on other peoples dryers but mine is not discolored at all and like I said mine is over 10 years old.

Of all the mechanical parts replaced...

The only real signs of wear were on the front drum glides. One of them broke during removal.

Question...

Malcom, does the Delicate/Bulky cycle on your washer use a higher water level than the Regular or Perm Press cycle? Or are they all the same? Something I've always been curious about but can't recall as it ever having been stated before. Great video's btw, I've watched all of the ones on your SQ FL.

Water Level

All fills are to the same level regardless of cycle chosen.
