End of a Hobart AM-14 Dish Machine (No Motor available)

So the Hobart AM-14 Dish Machine at my friends restaurant went down recently. We called Hobart and they sent out a Tech. He determined that the motor was dead and there were none available(This is the later revision of the AM-14 with the GE built motor). His Service Manager confirmed this.

We took the motor to a shop in North Minneapolis and had it rebuilt. Got the motor back, Hobart came out and installed it along with a new pump shell. Unfortunately the motor was so corroded around the flange area that he said there was no guarantee it would not leak. He got it going and all was well Untilll...

I spoke to my friend the owner 2 hours later and found out the dish machine was down again. I put in an emergency service call to Hobart and they sent a guy out. He said the motor was again dead. With no motors available we have to replace the machine.

A used equipment dealer near us recently took in an refurbished Hobart AM-15T. It will be installed tomorrow or Tuesday. Thank God as his crew is sick of using the 3 compartment sink.

Did they give you a part number for the whole pump assy? Just want to check it further. They have removed the part number from the catalogs which is very strange.
I would like to know for the future.

No they did not. They talked about them as separate pieces. I also looked up the part number in the parts manual online and there was nothing there.

I tracked down the issue with the motors. They come as a service kit but not all of the kit components are in stock so the kits are not complete. Therefore, 0 qty available. And since you are getting a newer machine, no sense getting the kit which happens to be 1900.00 bucks!

For your research. I know that will help you in your job and keep many of these great old machines working. I know a couple of other operators that still have these machines and will pass this along. I will also pass this along to the guys refurbishing our new machine.

This seems crazy to me as I was quoted over $2500 for the motor alone not including the pump casting or seals and impeller.

I visited the equipment dealer that is getting our AM-15T2 ready for service today. They had it up and running and it did complete a cycle. However the controller seems wonky which is why we don't have it yet. Their lead tech was contacting Hobart while I was there to locate a board. That pump runs so smooth and quiet. I have never heard that in a commercial dish machine before. Are there any issues I should look out for on the new dish machine? We are going to run it single point connection 240/60/3.
