Philip, you are also right. RevvinKevin called me on the phone to 'correct' me on the date while I was posting the pictures. Oh well, I KNEW it was 1970 but have no idea how 1960 got stuck in my head! Still... I'm very happy with how this dryer turned out! Barring anything unforseen, this should last a while longer yet!
There's actually something relaxing yet exciting at the same time reworking one of these classics! It gives you a sense of ownership when you put some sweat into it. It simply amaizes me that this dryer works so well after 39 years yet now she can celebrate a 're-birthday'. Oh how Maytag has forgotten what they learned since this one rolled out of Newton.
