Era liquid anyone?

Just curious, I bought a 150oz. bottle of Era on sale for 7.99 and wanted to give it a try. I know it is a P&G product, and it smells like vintage Era.
Any opinions, on whether or not this is a good daily detergent? It sure is cheap compared to Tide, Gain or Cheer, the latter being my favorite.

I have a 225 oz jug of it that I use from time to time. It smells very nice and works quite well to in my experience. I know a number of people who love Tide but can't use it because it makes them itch. Era, however, does not make them itch and they love it. Plus, it's Chuck Norris approved!

Its a decent detergent, I've just not one that is fond of the smell.

Interesting read on the Era/Chuck Norris ad campaign.

I do surveys and recently did one on Era. What this survey focused on was selecting a new approach with Era on how much less expensive it was than other detergents, but can handle really dirty and "stinky" laundry. I had to view the description of how Era got laundry clean and select a slogan from the ones that were listed.

However, until P&G phases out it's current campaign using Mr. Norris, I won't be buying Era anytime soon. This is in regards to him making some nasty comments about a certain group of people (and I'm sure some of you out there know what I mean).

Era Powder

I bought several boxes of the Era powder at my local Big Lots, and found it cleaned very well. It even removed stains I thought I couldn't get out with other detergents I tried. The Era I purchased was the "sudsy action" formula, which frankly is not all-that sudsy in my Whirlpool top-loader; I may not find it again.
As for the "Chuck Norris" campaign, the less said the better IMHO.

I've used Era liquid in the last year, both regular and with bleach.  Both formulas did a good job and I was pleased with the results.

Never tried at washing but I used to smell it in the old formula in the past   and lately after 2x formulas, it's scent was not  the same I remembered, actually was stinky IMHO.

It is also true that sometimes from a bottle you can't just catch the scent would have in the laundry.....

Never had the occasion to try it on laundry.....and so, do not know performances.....

I am using Era now and it cleans well and has a nice scent. Menards has the large dispenser jug on sale for $7 and change. I plan on picking up one.

If I recall, Era did pretty decently for a bargain priced detergent in the fairly recent CU tests, no?

For those who don't like the original scent, there is a second scent now - bottles have a pale blue cap, as well there is Era Free too.

I think Sun offers some decent detergents for the price, but Era I think is better for the same money, and an even better deal with a coupon. I recently got two 50 oz bottles for $3.99 ea, then on a buy one get one sale, so two for $4. I had a $.50 coupon, which the store doubled, so two bottles or 100 oz. for $3.00.

I have a box of the Era powder - they seem to stock it regularly at Family Dollar. Haven't tried it yet.

Era X2 liquid is great, it's my main detergent.  The scent is mild, not obnoxious.  Read the lable carefully, it's easy to grab a bottle of HE by accident if you want the regular.

I use liquid Era Oxi-Boost formula, I am VERY happy with it and it is only 2.99 on sale. Even at the regular price of 3.99 for a 50 oz.bottle, it is cheaper than Purex and works alot better!

It smells nice, and works on just about every stain.......inexpensive as well.....

if you guys remember, this was one fo the first "ultras"......only 1/4 cup was needed for a full TL load.......next best step was Fresh Start, or even Wisk

when I worked in the laundry decades ago, we had industrial powders and liquids, if we ran short until the shipment came in, the company told us to go to the store and buy ERA, it was the same base formula used for our industrial detergents, and worked really well on all the linens, removing all the stains.....

you literealy could write your name in a stain, and run water over top, and see the detergent remove just that part of the stain....

Cannot help but say......

This actually is just the work a detegrent should do! Some of liquids ones just don't......glad to know that Era is such a valid liquid detergent, I should get a try sooner or later!
