I'm thinking about picking these up when I go grocery shopping today. I've read good things about both variants on Finish's line. One is a powder that is added to the prewash cup, the other is a liquid that is added to the rinse aid dispenser. Both have excellent reviews on the company website and on Amazon. Does anyone have any experience with these?
I've concluded that while our water isn't terrible, it's still pretty hard. I've tried contacting our water department and researching online, and I can't get a pinpoint answer on the exact hardness, but from the looks of our faucet fixtures and that slight gritty feeling on our plastics from time to time, it can't be the greatest quality. I've been using standard Jet Dry and I think it does well, but it can't hurt to try the booster if it acts as both a rinse aid and also helps break up any detergent and scale residue.
Don't get me wrong, both the PowerClean and the Voyager-Maytag get things sparkling, and glassware is always spotless, but water quality can hinder even the greatest dishwasher, and I'd like to see if it makes a difference with the plastic interiors. I think how smoothly the racks slide in and out will be one of the deciding factors as well.
