FL Maytag Epic-Z burning smell, not pumping after move

Hi, we recently moved to a new place and took our Maytag EPIC-Z with us.

Since we have installed them in the new place there has been a funny sound coming from the pump that I didn't notice before. The cycle would run but then would fail with an F21 error code (slow drain)

Opened up the unit and noticed a brurning smell and lots of heat coming from the pump.

I have tried to clean out the drain hose coming from the pump in case it was a clog of some sort.

I ran the pump briefly without any water and it seems to spin so I _think_ its working but I could be wrong....

I tried blowing into the drain hose and it seemed like there was some resistance.... blew harder and finally some water came out. I suppose it is possiuble the drain hose has something in it that I wasn't able to reach when I fished it out... Yet I ran a bunch of water through the drain hose to clean it out and it was 100% moving....

Any ideas of what I should be looking at?

A few things come to mind. New address, clogged drain? Coin trapped in pump vane jostled into pump during move. Other blockage at the pump ie childs sock, underwear, other that may have gotten sucked through the sump.

OK so more developments. I removed all hoses and checked for obstructions could not find any. Removed pump unit and ran it briefly and confirmed that it is indeed spinning and seems fine.

Ran the washer's diagnostic cycle. Pump motor comes on and it starts to try to drain but nothing comes out. When I remove the drain hose from the stand pipe and blow into the drain hose it seems to help it out and the thing starts draining.

Strange...? Wondering if its some sensor or something....

Hmmm...

Several things come to mind.

1) Isn't that a model with the pump prefilter? A tray that filters out coins and other un-authorized items before it gets to the pump impeller.

2) There is something that is blocking a hose that is pushed into it's jamming position by water flow but will fall away and possibly not re-block when flow is disturbed.

3) (And a really good possibility!) There is a sump hose that comes out of the bottom of the tub and goes to the pump intake. Inside alot of those is a almost tennis ball sized ball and I see things get jammed up in there frequently! You may have to drop the sump hose and inspect. Be sure to probe up into the port in the bottom of the tub with your fingers to see if there is anything up there as well. The most common offender I find this way are those 'all in one' sheets that are supposed to dispense detergent and then softener in the dryer. These things do not disolve and easily make their way into the sump area and block drainage!

Took the sump hose off and made sure it was clear. Also felt around the bottom of the drum to make sure there was nothing left.

I also completely fished out the drain hose to make sure nothing was stuck in there.

Same problem: I hear the drain pump go on but nothing is moving. Then if I blow into the drain hose with enough pressure I hear what sounds like a 2nd pump or motor go on. I move quick cuz I don't want a mouthful of laundry water!

What would that 2nd thing be? Also, does this sound like a pressure switch issue?

This may be nothing but when I removed the pump there was water inside of the casing. While it made sense to me that the impeller would be submerged it seemed like maybe the water shouldn't be there. The pump does seem to work though... just needs some encouragement!

Bump! My lungs are getting a good workout.. but this can only go on so long Any ideas guys?
