Carlo, Accetto volentierissimo anche perche la panzanella a me non piace per nulla e vado invece matto per il risotto!!! Riguardo le Miele, qui non ce n'è proprio penuria!
Despite the fact I do live in the very heart of Tuscany,places where one can eat genuine italian food,made with original recipes and fresh ingredients are quite few and not so easy to reach for the tourist visiting the center of Florence. I never go to eat in the center of town. Despite the appearance also ice creams sold there are not what they should be. Restaurants downtown are expensive and food usually of poor quality.Keven, sorry to disappoint you but I happened to see very dirty houses in south of Italy too. The more you go south the more you are likely to find the 19th super catholic art thing! South menthality is often bound to old concepts not so usual for the other part of Italy. Do you know in some parts of Sicily when a funeral service takes place in a private home, relatives use to rent women to cry along with them? You might think this is medium eve stuff but these thing still exist. I saw several exhibitions of other bad taste stuff filling many many houses in southern Italy. Statues of the leaning tower of Pisa or Colosseum, small domes filled with water and "fake snow",ornaments everywhere... you might think to be in a museum of kitsch!
