Sadly, the day I finally installed my countertops on my dream vintage kitchen my 1980 Touchmatic Amana Radarange had an accident. Someone either left a piece of metal in it (looks like a coin because the burn spot is perfectly round) or it just melted through. It works perfect but there is a burn spot on the bottom where the door shuts and a corresponding melted spot on the lower door where the plastic is melted. There is also a crack in the plastic on the door.
It is free to anyone here who could use the spare parts or repair it. I just want to keep the glass tray in case I find a new one that needs one.
It's beautiful on the outside and I just didn't want to put it on the curb or in the dump. Please, someone take it from me. I live in the Detroit, Ann Arbor, MI and Toledo, OH area. I don't remember the model # (it's too heavy for me to lift) but I do know it was made in 1980, is a "Touchmatic" (not Touchmatic II).
Oh, and if anyone has a Radarange they can part with, I'm in the market. I'd actually prefer the ones with the dials but the touchmatics are o.k., too. I like the chromey ones.
Thanks so much
