Well folks, thanks to the generosity of Lightedcontrols, I now possess a "Frog-Eyed Kenmore" vintage unknown. Model #553561, Serial#C 525583. Anyone have an idea what year this was produced? It works just fine! I have been using the '56 Uni for a few days now and the spin on the Kenmore is so slow looking in comparison it is silly! Thanks! -Steve

Steve, Kenmore & Whirlpool washers have never had a timed fill. The Dial is marked "FILL" only where the machine will fill, but it wont start to agitate without satisfying the float or pressure switch. There is an area on the timer knob that is not marked fill is so you can advance the timer knob and start agitation at a lower water level, sort of like the Water Saver Button on late 1950's GE washers.

Thanks---I figured it out after toying with it a while. Should have just tinkered first and questioned later. Right now I have bigger fish to fry with it---like finding a parts list for it. Sears won't talk to me with out the exact part numbers as the model number is no longer in their data base. Oy vay iz meer. To their credit though Sears does have some of the parts! -Steve
