Gee, I don't have that problem with my Kenmore (WP) Tall Tub. And mine sit for up to a week sometimes. But then again, I put my cereal bows in the bottom rack, I consider bowls and saucers a waste of rack real estate space for the top rack unless I need to fill up th top rack if not enough glasses and mugs.

Looked At One

I looked at one of these when I was searching for my Miele. Unfortunately, I detest hidden/concealed controls. I want buttons and knobs and lights, damnit!

Miele did not disappoint!

I'm with you Malcolm!! I want everyone to know I have a dishwasher, not anothe cabinet or whatever. I wanna see little lights, timer displays, ... When I chose my Kenmo Elite, it was the highest-end miodel available with displayed controls. Anything higher in the line would have had concealed controls, unacceptable to me!!!

Bosch

We used to have a store nearby called Dacor, I think. They had a kitchen design studio on their upstairs level. Well, one Sunday afternoon, a group of us were walking through the store just walking off brunch more than anything else.

You know me, I'm gonna open and touch as many appliances as I can in a given amount of time. Now, in one kitchen arena, they had recently finished a cooking demonstration of some sort. Without thinking, I reached for the dishwasher door, pulled it open, and got quite a hot splash in the face from that Bosch. Needless to say, it attracted more attention then I could ever have hoped for in a retail environment.

I decided right then that I would never own a dishwasher without some sort of visible indicator that it was in operation. What if a child had opened that machine and got scalded?

Never Cease to be Amazed

If this was my thread my feelings would be hurt. It is a pattern I have observed many times here and frankly I'm mystified. Member buys a new appliance. Member is happy and proud. Member shares excitement and experience. Comments start positve and then deteriorate into trying to discredit the value, quality and performance of members new machine. I find lively discussions of the finer points of any machine very interesting, but not inserted into a personal thread that frankly requested no opinions. It feels like an affront to the purchaser's good judgement and I would feel angry, defensive and hurt if it happened to me.

no offense meant

In re-reading the posts, Kelly, I don't see where anyone denigrated Wes's new machine.

All negative points were made on the old GE Tall Tub models. It sounds as if GE has addressed some of these issue.

We are all happy about Wes's purchase, and glad that he seems pleased with it. In fact, I would like to have one myself to tryout!

Don't Mean to be a Downer...

My intention is/was not to discredit the original posters pleasure in his new appliance. Who doesn't love new?

I did look at this machine and liked the layout of the interior. But to point out, there is inherit danger in some of these new super quiet dishwashers that don't have a locking lever to prevent opening during operation.

Can a dishwasher be too quiet? Perhaps we should start a new thread.
