I wasn't overthinking the hose length at all, until the salesman said it wouldn't work, Speeed Queen said not to do it as well. And no one here, including you, who has sold/worked on over a thousand of them, could verify they had seen it work. Now I KNOW it works. So will others.

I always thought it should, or I would have cancelled the order.

Thanks for all the info.

Hi William, if you go back and look at the posts I said it would work. I said it has a stronger pump than the Maytag had and I have had them pump higher than that. There was never any question in my mind that it would work.

Enjoy the new washer I’m sure it’ll work well for you.

I said I might try the eco cycle (with extra rinse) just to see how it does. When I used it to clean the tub, it took about 25 min, with deep fill, before I did the rinse.

I Was very satisfied with the Bulky cycle. Clothes and towels both came out really clean. Took 40 minutes, agitated for 8, which is what I used to set the old machine on.

I will try Heavy duty next to see how long it takes/agitates. Doubt we will use delicates, or permanent press, never used them on the old one. Wish they listed the agitation times.

I did find this for water, hope it's correct:
1. Eco cycle = 12.5 gallons per fill or 14.5 gallons with deep fill.
2. Permanent Press/Heavy Duty = 14.5 gallons per fill or 19 gallons with deepfill.
3. Delicates/Bulky = 16 gallons per fill or 19 gallons with deep fill.

That's why I tried bulky (no deep fill), but it seemed like more than enough water, so I'll try Heavy duty next, with no deep fill.

We aren't mechanics, I do IT work. So unless I do a car repair, or have some home project, we don't have very soiled clothing.

Briefly OT back to septic systems ... a maintenance inspection was done yesterday.  I questioned him about a need for sludge pump-out and that it has not ever been done.  He confirmed that they'll tell me if it's needed.  He said the sludge level is 1 to 2 inches, far from needing attention.

An aside ... the septic contractor is based in my home town.  We've known the owner "J" and his family for years.  He may have worked at my dad's business in his teenage years.  Dad later (after selling his own business) worked for J as office manager in the early years of getting his septic business going.  Dad and I went along when J wanted to get a Radio Shack PC for CAD.  I set up accounting software.  Dad did the daily entries, I did the monthly closing/reports for a number of years.
