So after those scrummy cornish pasties its back to work, Timer - Check, Tub - Check, Motor - Check, now for the wheels, suspension, pump and back together!!
First up new wheels, which had flattened from sitting 30 odd years....We can now see the extent of the dripping water down the tub and onto the side chassis.

Last year Richard (Richard1983) from Leeds UK posted about his Hoover 1980`s A3110 washing machine started to have a few issue, pump, leaks, suspension and then timer sticking issues, we where going to get him along at the next meet up but having thought about it on a busy weekend it would be...

The universal tool had much practice over the weekend, here are Lee and Gary knocking out the circlips and removing / replacing said wheels..

Meanwhile, backplate cleaned, a smear of adhesive and new rubber gasket installed, but watch out for that cheese grater drum when stretching the band over it!!

Drum squeaky clean and ready for installing back into the outer drum..

Now for the new Anti-Twist suspension kit...the drum is mounted on steel rods connected with a rubber block and steel washers at the tub end and a nylon shroud at the baseplate, the large suspension spring is on the outside, a simple but very effective way of providing strong suspension - over the years they tend to twist with wear causing the drum to not be centred.
