Hotpoint 9513

Hi

I have one of these machines, Hotpoint 9513 - Very old.

The drum is not turning. Does anyone know what the problem could be?

I'm thinking of buy a new one - Would it be worth trying to get the old one fixed?

I would have a guess at .......

the brushes in the motor and they are cheap and easy to do !

These are very good machines and last a long time, a lot longer than Hotpoint's latest offerings.

Why not call out a local engineer who will be able to fix it and will have the expertise to give it the once over.

Hi there.

Agree with Austin and Bertrum. The good thing with old machines is that generally, when they fail, the issue is fairly simple to rectify.

The Hotpoint 95's are very good machines - reliable and long lived. It would be a shame for it to be pensioned off if it is something so simple as worn down motor brushes, or even simpler - a detached or snapped drive belt.

If, prior to its recent issues, it had been working perfectly well then I would definitely attempt a repair.
