If you remember the heater plate has been damaged by the drum rubbing on poor bearings.

To strengthen the weak lower rim I soldered a steel band in place, worked a treat and the solder should not melt under normal conditions.

Fitted the wheels and feet to the base plate, I no it’s the wrong shade of blue, nothing I can do about it now.

Heater plate fitted, fixings from both sides, at this point I was at my whit’s end and the hammer almost came out.

Right the fun part, placed the dryer face down on some cardboard to protect the front panel. Insert the five bearing strips into the heater plate.

Remove all the base plate fixings so the sides splay out and drop the drum in.

Using your hand to slid the drum rim into the new bearings.

Tip the machine into it’s back, on the cardboard and fit the rear bearing plate, this pulls it all together.
