Hi - there seems to be quite a few AW members that have some neat vintage tv's. I'll share a few that I've got. These are restored and working. The one below is a '57 Sylvania Sylouette.

Not what you're looking for...

... but fun none the less. I found this guy the same time I found my Maytag wringer.

Controls are on top

The top panel slides back. I have 4 of these Halolights. This one is from 1957, one from 1958 (dark cabinet) and two 23" from 1960.

I will have to locate a shot of my 1950 Admiral consolette. It's currently awaiting re-deployment somewhere in the new house.

I let our family's first TV, a 1951 Capehart model 325F, go at the recent estate sale. I couldn't find an interested party for it through on-line vintage TV contacts and it was too big to hang on to. I hope it wasn't turned into an aquarium or bar or something, but the time had come to let go of a lot of stuff I had accumulated over the years.

And let's face it, the Admiral is a much cuter set and a great small size, and ultimately worth more in the collector marketplace.

I would love to see the sets other members have.

My favorite

is this beaut from our moderator..

I feel it in my fingers, I feel it in my toes...

Here

This console here I picked up about a year ago. Its an RCA with the radio and record player. The original tv was taken out at some point and was replaced with an early 80's Zenith color tv. It was done very well and unless someone is looking for it can't be noticed.

Stromberg Carlson

This is a Stromberg Carlson. This one in the picture belongs to a friend of mine, but I have one almost the same. It was a special design that they came out with. The front painting is hand painted and has the painters signature on it.

Some of my tv's

Here are 4 more of my tvs. The top left one is a Stetchel Carlson, top right is a General Electric, bottom left is a Sylvania, and the bottom right is a 1947 RCA (even has channel 1).

Douglas

This is a Douglas tv. Steve and I picked this up at a garage sale few months back. Notice that there are no controls on it. Theres a chair side table with a phonograph in it that has the controls for the tv on top of it. It has a long cord that goes from the chair side to the tv. Kind of an early remote.

rp2813: The console behind the doors is an early Zenith colsole radio and record player.

Douglas again

This is the chairside controls for the Douglas tv. The top flips up and there is a phonograph inside.

I have more tvs, but right now no pictures of them. Once Steve and I get the house and everything set up, I'll take more pictures and post them on here.

I couldn't resist...

Here's my 53 Zenith. I finally got a "picture" on it. It's the first time that screen has had a "picture" on it in 25 years. Still working away on it... Just trying to get the cash together. :)

P.S. That tiny handsome b/w devil is me! It's my first face picture on a/w!

Ummm, Will,

We need to see more pix of you now . . .

I'm a sucker for facial hair. OK you smart alecs, you can interpret that any way you want. There is no right or wrong in this case.

I have a sneaking suspicion I'll be posted up here in a couple of weeks with Volvoguy87, when he comes down (my good college pal, Dave). I shall just have to leave you in suspense. Thanks for the complement.
