Be careful what you sit on. It could be deadly or nasty!

HMMMMM is there any residual current in the handle of an all-metal pot/pan placed properly on the stove?

Or is one better off regardless of the answer above buying those pot holders that fit over a pot handle like a glove?

As I understand it, these are all "eddy currents" and self-contained within the pan, with no potential difference between the pan and its surroundings. One could easily check for hazard by using an AC voltmeter between one's hand and the pot - or between a grounded water pipe and the pan.

what works

I got an induction cooktop (single plate) for Christmas. Works beautifully.
Cast iron - with or without porcelain - works perfectly. Some stainless works, some doesn't.
The weird thing is, induction tops in Europe are running between 1/4 and 1/3 the price of the same units in the US. This often happens; LG markets to the 'upper end' in the US, they are a bargain/mid-range (same models) in Europe. BOSCH is good, solid, mid-range stuff in Germany, in the US it is luxury.
GE refrigerators were TOL and 'exklusiv' for years in Europe, same models as were put in trailer homes in the US...
You gotta love marketing...
As far as induction cooking goes, after using this cooktop, I never want to be without it again!
