Hey guys, not getting any replies in the appropriate discussion area so hope I don't get in trouble for posting this one here where there's more activity.

Sears has the "HE2 Plus" pair on sale this week. Sears washer #47512. I'd like to know what people familiar with this washer think about them. I don't recall seeing them offered at a lower price than what they're advertising this week for the pair.

A couple of questions I have:

Can the door on the washer be reversed so hinges are on the right? This is crucial.

Are the control panels as repair-prone as some testimonials have indicated?

Are the pumps as weak aand problem-prone as some people have described them?

Is it really necessary to use a mesh bag for small items in the washer? I'm not interested if that extra step is involved with sorting and will wait for a FL that will not get clogged by a sock or whatever.

Is this latest HE2 different from previous models re: the actual manufacturer? I've read where this Sears model was made by Frigidaire at one time but this current version is a WP product.

I've read that this washer will handle a king sized comforter no problem. Can anyone confirm this?

Is there an equivalent WP model? The closest I could find is a 3.3 cu ft washer drum by them and the specs on this Kenmore say 3.5 cu ft.

OK, that's it for now. I may go for this pair if I can be sure I'm buying reliable technology but I have to decide by Friday. I intend to head to Sears and take a closer look if I get good reports here. My experience is that the sales people there will tell you anything you want to hear so feel I'll get better advice here.

Thanks for any info everybody.

Ralph
