I have a 8-10 year old Frigidaire stainless lined 18 inch dishwasher. Dishwasher is Canadian built from 2015 if I read the tag right. I've been gone a lot this summer and the filter cone and filter area have become very black with mold. I always run the machine on hi temp wash and was hoping that would clean out the filter and sump. Lemishine didn't do anything! What should I use to clean-up these areas? I've though of using Clorox/Tilex spray and then running a long wash.
Help needed! The machine has run flawlessly until last night... Thanks all! Greg

Moldy, dirty, dishwasher filter

Hi Greg, I would try commercial dishwasher, cleaners that are sold in the store next to the detergents, you can also put an eighth of a cup of bleach in the dishwasher once in a while if mold is a problem.

What are you using for detergent, you shouldn’t have this type of problem at all.

This dishwasher is likely made in China, all of the 18 inch dishwashers are except for a few high-end brands.

Lemishine is largely citric and some other acids IIRC. Product is meant to descale dishwashers and washing machines, it won't do anything for mold or mildew.

White vinegar (acetic acid) OTOH does tackle mold and mildew.
