LG turbodrum
Hi everyone. These type of washers are really common here in Mexico. Some people in my family own this washer, which by your description, is called turbodrum here. I have seen them several times washing and I could not really say they have a very good performance. The ones I know are exactly the one you describe and the other models are the same thing as the GE Harmony, which I think makes a worse job comparing to the other one. The mini impellers are supposed to help in the washing action, but my hands have been at the buttom of the machine while it´s working and they kept still unless you touch them. The only thing that moves is the main impeller to one direction and the hole tub to the other and then alternates directions. They don´t wear or tear clothes, but doesn´t wash them really good either. If you do a very dirty load, many things come out the same as they got in.
When this relatives saw how my WF316BAW FL Samsung or my TL Whirlpool Catalyst performed with even the worst stains on clothes, they couldn´t believe it. They decided to get rid of their Turbodrums and got new FL also LG branded, and have had excelent results. They said wouldn´t buy anything similar to the turbodrum system never again. I
t could be very good machine for those of you who don´t get clothes dirty and only need a little refresh. It has a great capacity.
BTW I´ve also seen this system on Samsung machines and they do a pretty good job. They have different forms of impellers, and the washing action is stronger without ruining clothes as normal agitators do. So, if you are looking for a Turbodrum system go with the Samsung. I don´t know if they are sold in the US, but as I said at the begining, they are really common washers here in Mexico. I will post some pictures of the LG Turbodrums and the Samsungs.
