Look at all the bells and whistle in modern refrigertors!

Because so many people seem to consider the kitchen as the heart of the home, companies are starting to include many bells and whistles in modern fridges. For example, here is the "Internet" fridge by LG which has been out for sometime. I did see the fridge in Sears. It has a HDTV ready TV, a weather forcast feature, a recpie book, anniversary reminders and a digital photo viewer.

Also, here is the Whirlpool "Centralpark Connection" fridge set to come out this fall. You can plug in and charge devices like a cell phone or a DVD Player. It also contains a message board, a web tablet and a family calender.

A fridge is supposed to keep your food cold, not recharge your iPod! For that kind of money it better sprout arms and put the groceries away

Well, those refrigerators won't fit into my kitchen anyway (actually none of the commonly available refrigerators fits). Also, I am not a fan of multifunctional appliances. If one function fails and cannot be repaired you'll have to replace the whole thing.

Have seen the LG fridges at Best Buy.Remember CU reviewed these and commented they weren't any good as a TV,nor as a --fridge!For their $3000 price-why not just get a GOOD fridge and put a small TV on top?Or how bout get the good fridge and just put the TV in another room?Just can't fathom the idea of watching TV and movies on the fridge!
