So I love vintage supermarket products of all sorts especially ones from the 50’s. I found an unopened 1970’s extra large glass bottle of scope at an estate sale this weekend. I just love the glass bottles, I plan on dumping out the 35 year old Scope and washing out the bottle and keeping new mouthwash in it.

But check this out, the old Scope has become cloudy and for some reason it has strange black dots floating in it, and these black dots behave almost like they are in a lava lamp. I wonder what would have caused that over time????????

Way Cool Robert...

I do the same thing with my milk..I buy organic milk in the carton and transfer it to a 1/2 gallon glass bottle. Nothing beats a cold glass of milk from a glass bottle!

have you ever heard of...

sphincterine?

sphincterine...for a minty fresh ass.

I hope you think that's funny 'cause I thought it was hysterical.

We used to use scope in the 70's and it was fun to see it again.

Robert, I'd save that Scope in the bottle, even though it isn't useable. I actually have two mid '60s bottles of Avon "Leather" I bought NOS, although I have used it very sparingly. It really has not degraded, it smells exactly the way it smelled to me in 1966. "Tribute" by Avon, is another story. Bundtboy, "Sphincterine", that isn't Avon, is it? Robert, great vacuum, and RCA Victor Wireless Wizard. And the washer/dryer...........

Later versions of Scope from the 70's were made slightly thicker and with bits of pumice for whitening teeth. The thicker formula held the pumice in suspension and provided better adhesion of the patened T25 to the teeth and tongue to kill germs while also providing better abrasion for whitening. The formula did not last long as users felt as though their mouth was smeared with Jell-o or K-Y Jelly even hours after rinsing. Funny, no one complained of pumice grit.

Go ahead, Robert! Try it before you dump it!

bundt boy, not only do you have a cool whirlpool dishwasher and metal sink and bake excellent cakes of which I have a sweet tooth... you have just referred me to a new product I can't wait to try.
sphincterine...for a minty fresh ass. You'll have to come over and show me how to use it.

meanwhile, Cool find Robert. I would guess those black specks are small pieces of the cardboard or polypropolyne seal on the roof of the cap. It is amazing how the fumes from "paint thinner lite" can take their toll on things like that.

Um, just as soda isn't good for ANYONE to consume because the carbonated water kills the enzymes in one's stomach that digest food. (no wonder our soda addicted kids are getting H-U-G-E)
Mouth wash, which is alcohol, kills necessary "bacteria" and enzymes in one's mouth. no one should use. Unless your doing things with your mouth that, well, I won't go into details here....

I like the bottle and I remember the ads.
If it were me. I would call Haz-Mat, have them dump the bottle but keep the bottle and rinse out and fill with water and food coloring for old times sake.

We used to have to get milk in Glass bottles. I remember that.

Robert, don't be silly! Of COURSE the pumice was there when the Scope was new. P&G might be good, but they can't make pumice invisible! Shoot, that was a good 30 years before Harry Potter and magic were ever popular.

Let us know how it tastes and works!
