So Monday last week I get this e-mail from RedCarpetDrew, who got it from QSD Dan... and it has a Craigslist link.   I click the link, look at the pix and read the ad.   I think "Those are cool, but UGH I already have WAY too many things in my garage AND it's FAR!"

24 hours later I look at the ad again and call the phone number.   The woman is very nice and I convince her I AM interested, but could not be there until Saturday.   Surprisingly she agrees to hold them for me withOUT a deposit. (VERY nice!)

Then I start making calls "Hey, I'm heading your direction, want to meet up for lunch / dinner?"    The voices agree.

After loading 2 KM washers and a KM dryer in the truck the night before, Saturday morning I'm out the door and on the road at 5:30 am and I head East.

First stop. Phoenix.   I drop off a matching 1980 KM W&D (white), to be shipped to Gordon.   I then head off to meet with Justin (Countryford) at a local all Ford car show, where it's showing his (late 60's - early 70's (sorry I forgot)) Ford truck.   We go to his house so I can check out his collections of old radios and TV's and I drop off the other washer, a '69 KM 700.   Lunch time and we head to Mel's Diner (Yes this is were they shot the exterior shots for the '76 - '85 TV sitcom "Alice").   We had a nice lunch, then it's time for me to continue to my final destination: Tucson.

While in route to Tucson.....

I was about 45 minutes (or so) outside of Tucson and I could see this black column of smoke for about 12 - 15 miles.   As I was getting closer, I realized that smoke was DIRECTLY ahead of me!   Oh crap, brake lights!   We come to a complete stop.  Fortunately I'm only about a 1/4 mile back from the completely engulfed big rig.  For reference, as I was approaching I could see the flames about 8 feet above that (exit 232) sign.   Also fortunately we were only stopped about 20 minutes.

Nate, please insert your photos >here<

I eventually made it to Tucson and met with (for the first time) Ross (Westyslantfront), Nate (Roto204) and his partner David, another David and Roger.    After seeing Ross' collection and watching the '56 Norge Timeline go thru a rinse and final spin, we all head out to dinner.

After dinner we headed to Roger's place to see and play with his collection, including a 18 lb GE filter flo and his Blackstone washer.   That was the first time I've seen a Blackstone in use (in person).   VERY well thought out and designed washer!

Nate, you took A LOT more photos then I did, please post them here!   Thanks!

Meeting and visiting with everyone, plus playing with a couple washers (Like the Blackstone - THANK YOU Roger and the Norge Timeline, THANK YOU Ross!) and just having a great evening, I get back to my motel... and bed.

Sunday Morning... now it's time for the reason of this trip.  I head over and meet the seller, see the machines, close the deal and load them in my truck.

Here is a "teaser shot".   Let's see how close you can get to what they are.

Kevin's a much more masterful picture-taker than I am, and I totally lust after his digital SLR camera, but here you go. :-)

Tailgating

Over in the garage, David, David, and Roger are on the tailgate.

I managed to snap this one moments before my David flipped up his T-shirt. I'll spare you that one.

Left-to-right: My partner David, Roger, and Ross' good friend David, who was over a'laundering.
