So Monday last week I get this e-mail from RedCarpetDrew, who got it from QSD Dan... and it has a Craigslist link. I click the link, look at the pix and read the ad. I think "Those are cool, but UGH I already have WAY too many things in my garage AND it's FAR!"
24 hours later I look at the ad again and call the phone number. The woman is very nice and I convince her I AM interested, but could not be there until Saturday. Surprisingly she agrees to hold them for me withOUT a deposit. (VERY nice!)
Then I start making calls "Hey, I'm heading your direction, want to meet up for lunch / dinner?" The voices agree.
After loading 2 KM washers and a KM dryer in the truck the night before, Saturday morning I'm out the door and on the road at 5:30 am and I head East.
First stop. Phoenix. I drop off a matching 1980 KM W&D (white), to be shipped to Gordon. I then head off to meet with Justin (Countryford) at a local all Ford car show, where it's showing his (late 60's - early 70's (sorry I forgot)) Ford truck. We go to his house so I can check out his collections of old radios and TV's and I drop off the other washer, a '69 KM 700. Lunch time and we head to Mel's Diner (Yes this is were they shot the exterior shots for the '76 - '85 TV sitcom "Alice"). We had a nice lunch, then it's time for me to continue to my final destination: Tucson.
