Its fixed...!

I put a new drive coupler in today and have done 4 loads of wash, and everything is working properly again! Pretty easy to change the coupler I might add.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed, and if it keeps doing it...idk...I'll just run it til it dies, lol. If anything, it has a new coupler...still no problems.

The coupler is not involved in the neutral-drain failure issue. If neutral drain is working after you replaced the coupler, it's only coincidental.

Newer Kenmore's Suck

My Suggestion is to dump it . Unless you really like direct drive machines. There are destined to be a Kia Rio, if you ask me. There are built to fail. I bought a 72 Lady Kenmore Recently and are almost ready to fix her up. I own a GE Profile direct drive, with the cruel action agitator,and although it functions fine, I would never buy another dd machine again. Lousy rollover! Give me a Vari-flex, a Roto Swirl, or an old Maytag. Ok,enough preaching!LOL

I wouldn't mind dumping this set....

....but I've been laid off from my job since March '09. Luckily, my g/f got called back to her job just this week after being laid off for a year. Not to many jobs in my area. So yeah...a new set is out of the question for awhile.

My 96 TOL Kenmore DD did that to started in 99, I replaced the coupler also thinking that was it,and it did seem better but still sometimes did a spin instead of neutral drain,so inded I got the kit and replaced the clutch.That washer to only lived to be 8 but it ran daily atleast twice or more as does my current He3 fronloader. With 5 people the laundry never stops. Between clother towels,uniforms etc...Good luck with ive seen DD's last 4-5 more years like this.
BTW nice Regal what year 2004-05? It looks nice n clean under you hood

Hey thanks for welcoming me kenmore81. I'm keeping my fingers crossed on the washer. It really has been a good machine, not very efficient...but it gets the job done! As far as my car goes, thats a 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP. Thanks for the nice comment!
