Well, we got two brand new Maytag dishwasher put on display on Friday.... I DO NOT like them! ughh.. Wish Maytag stayed in bussiness.

The tub is no longer as "tall". It looks like it's about 2"shorter.

Top rack is not as deep, and much closer to the top. Another word, you can no longer put dinner plates in the upper rack, and or use large/tall glass.

Upper wash arm is not there.. Just a small sprinkler head.

No longer has tilt down tines to stand bowls on it's side on the lower rack.

I'll try to take some pictures today.

I forgot to add... The only thing that you see from the old Maytag in this machine is the Maytag split silverware basket.. These basket could be put together as one basket, but there is no place to put it.. It has to be hung on the right hand side.

Otherwise, everything else is Whirlpool.

RIP Matag

So sorry to hear this. From the racks that you loaded glasses on the bottom & plates on the top (fantastic dishwashers) to this. Hmmmmmm. Sorry to hear about this new (sprinkler sprayer) Matag. Toooooo Baaaad . Mike

The lower racks of these are Whirlpool all the way, as is the pump module with their "Twice the Life" motor (whatever the F that is). The upper rack itself is all Maytag, but the upper spray arm is Whirlpool. Maypool is now making the Maytag-based jetclean dishwasher as well as a Whirlpool-based "jetclean" dishwasher. Don't know whether or not they dumped the 3 rack dishwasher or not. But yes, the Whirlpool based machines don't have the same clearance as the Maytag based machines, so the top rack will no longer hold dinner plates.

Andrew

The upper racks may look like Maytag's, but it's not.. it's way too shallow, and has this huge warm arm guard on it.

Are these models which are now on Maytag's web site? Doesn't seem "right, given that I can put dinner plates in the top rack of my Kenmore (Whirlpool/KitchenAid) elite tall tub. I odn't see 3-rack Jetcleans anymore on the web site.

Ick

We got ours this week, too. Like a flock o'birds: cheap, cheap, cheap! None of them have the "quick adjust" feature to raise or lower the top rack.

I'm still not convinced about the whole "steam" thing, I think it's just a gimmick.

"interesting"

I was looking at Best Buy web site for a friend wanting a new dishwasher, I just noticed a new Whirlpool dishwasher that had an MDB model--a Maytag designation. I looked over the specs, mentions "JetClean" system--a Maytag term in a Whirlpool dishwasher. Hmm

Well, I guess Whirlpool finally did it. Cleansed themselves of all the Maytag tech.

How on earth can they designate their module design as "jet clean" when it's clearly not!?

Oh, and it's got the trademark 4 blade [not] food disposer.

John

I agree with you.

I'm going to hold on to my Maytag I have now as LONG as I can!

Along with my Neptune dryer, and Range.

There are all kinds of "Jet Clean" dishwashers in the Maytag lineup. You have Jetclean(Maytag), Jetclean Plus(WP), Jetclean II, (Maytag) and Jet Clean III (WP).

I am so happy we bought one of the last original Maytag designs last fall. I found out that as of Jan 1 of this year that our model is no longer available.

We have been running ours on the "lite clean" cycle(86 minutes)with teriffic results. We only use the heavier cycles for really dirty dishes & pots & pans.

I have the Jetclean II. MDBH945. They are still being sold. and a couple of modles are still out there.. Just the stainless steal tub is what I'm seeing on the change out to WP design.

I kinda wish I had the true Jetclean (With 60 jets and tower.)
