Help Support :

The only reason for posting the above is not in any way to put you off, but to show you the sort of stuff that is out there already and give you an idea as to the gaps in spreadsheet knowledge.

There is still absolutely LOADS of information gaps in the world of domestic laundry appliances and there can be absolutely no lack of studying them.
The only people who are in a position to actively research this kind of stuff is us and with hunderds of manufacturers and thousands of models, there is plenty to be going on with.
I concentrated on three of the big four UK manufacturers - there is everyone else still to do.

Am more than happy to email you copies of what I have done, then you can use some of the information to fill out your own work.

Researching this kind of thing is both exciting and incredibly frustrating at the same time. The satisfaction at finding new info is immense, whilst also annying when you begin to hit brick walls.
Dont give up your project, for it will be incredibly worthwhile.

database meeting lol....

Aww Paul, hehe please don't think I was competing with you. Wasn't trying to steal your lime light of your expertise. I’m impressed and blown away by the mass work you have done so far. Even if it is a ‘work in progress’. Thanks for posting your database Paul, I really do appreciate it. It will help me fill out the key parts, in order to complete stage one.

Like I said in my earlier posts, I’m starting small at the moment, even though its, tempting to pursuit further. Though along the way I’ve had to change a few things. For example, the overall Water consumptions for each machine, is kind of tricky to find (unless I’m wrong here) also in two minds weather I should keep the kW? But for the course of this project, the numbers are my main priority

Of course Paul, I won’t be shy on e-mailing you. Thanks for your input Paul ;)

Maybe its worth doing the database after all, its good for keeping it for future reference. Here’s what I have done so far bare in mind all is ‘work in progress’

Hi Hass.

Honestly there isnt any competition or limelight :-)
Just wanted to show you what had already been done, so you could get an idea as to what info was out there and available to you.
Disnt know whether you seeing what had already been done, might have had an influence on how you would go about your studies - for that is what they are and you will pick up and learn so much, so quickly.

I did the spreadsheet thing more for myself than for anyone else. Was desperate to understand what was produced, what the different series of machines were and where they all fitted into the grand scheme of things.

The information was/is out there but it is/was held by different people and in diffenet formats i.e brochures, leaflets, manuals, adverts and memories etc.
Decided that, in order to get a grip on things, the information needed to be in one place and the spreadsheets were started.

Four years on and I am where I am and it is great that someone else has decided to take the plunge and do something similar, but with more of the nitty gritty detail, which my spreadsheets lack.

All power to you and any help you need - just ask.

beyond the teachings...

Ah but you see Paul, its all about learning and bouncing off each other. That’s the beauty of aw.org being able to exchange and share info. In our case, its not about who’s work is better or who gets the gold star, because everyone’s work will be different. Your spread sheet goes in to more depth explaining details of ‘what when and why’.

I’ve copied your work on to my pc, for further reference and I’m liking the logic, by getting a better understanding. With all these machines out there/including yours and Robs personal collection, no wonder you was desperate to get things in perspective hehe.

Without sounding it cliché, some of you here already have become idols and naturally the influences would get handed down.
