Does anybody have any experience with Oster Microwaves? My work got one for our breakroom, maybe 6 months ago. I hated that thing from the start. It would constantly overcook food, in the center of everything. When making a frozen pasta meal, the noodles that would touch the container in the middle would be hard. I had never known a microwave to cook from the inside out like that before, usually the center is the last thing to cook.
Anyway one night they smelled a hot plastic smell and couldn't find out what it was. We opened up the microwave only to discover a burning wire smell coming from inside it. That was it done, not even a year old.

I've seen them in stores........

but have no other experience with them. Probably Galanz built, in South Korea. Many microwaves these days are built by Galanz, no matter what the label says.

To me, nothing can beat a real, made in the USA Radarange, or Litton.

Who knows who made it.. Oster was bought out by Sunbeam waaaay back in the 60's and in the 80's or 90's was sold to basically a holding company or something pretty much having all their appliances made in China by gawd knows who. There's really no connection anymore to the original companies. Like the little RCA microwave I bought my sister a couple of years ago.. it's just letters on the units doors, nothing RCA about it.
